Delete your account
1. What "delete account" means
Mobile API Connect has two kinds of identifiers:
- Device pairing — created when you tap "Pair" in the Android app. Stored on the device (EncryptedSharedPreferences) and on our backend (a row in the
devicestable linked to atenantrow). - Portal user account — an email + password you use to sign in at
portal.mobileapiconnect.com. Linked to a tenant.
Both can be deleted independently or together.
2. Delete from the Android app
- Open the Mobile API Connect app.
- From the dashboard, tap the gear icon in the top right.
- Tap "Unpair device" and confirm.
This deletes the API key and signing secret from the device storage immediately. The corresponding device record on our backend is marked revoked within 60 seconds and purged from active tables within 24 hours.
3. Delete a portal account
- Sign in at portal.mobileapiconnect.com.
- Open Settings → Team.
- Click "Remove this user" next to your email.
If you are the only owner of the tenant, you will be asked to either transfer ownership or close the tenant entirely.
4. Delete the entire tenant (closes everything)
To delete the tenant — including all devices, API keys, webhook configs, auto-reply rules, and historical message logs — email hello@mobileapiconnect.com from the account-owner email address with the subject "Delete tenant: [tenant ID]".
Your tenant ID is shown at the top of the portal dashboard. We process tenant-deletion requests within 14 days. You will receive a confirmation email when the deletion is complete.
5. What gets deleted, and when
- Immediately on unpair: API key and signing secret are removed from the device. The device row is marked revoked on the backend.
- Within 24 hours: All active-system data (devices, API keys, webhook configs, auto-reply rules) is purged.
- Within 30 days: Backups containing the data are rotated out and the data becomes irrecoverable.
- Retained for legal compliance only: Invoices and payment records, where required by Singapore tax law, are retained for 5 years per the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS) record-keeping rule.
6. What we do NOT need to delete
Aggregate / anonymous data (e.g. "Tenant X sent N messages on date Y" without content) may be retained in our analytics for billing and capacity planning, since it cannot be linked back to you.
